Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Green Acres is our commitment to the Great Commission (Matthew 28). We believe it begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation.  Green Acres members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as church greeters to complex activities such as organizing church outreach activities.

One of the basic questions that new members have is: Where can I serve? At Green Acres we have organized our different ministries with you in mind. We have a new members class to discuss questions like this. In this class we explain the work done by these different ministries and introduce you to the points of contact for every ministry.  In addition, we will provide you with a Spiritual Gifts inventory assessment to explore your uniqueness and help you grow from were you are.

How can I learn to do this?

The next basic question we hear is: How can I learn to do this? At Green Acres we believe in explaining ministry responsibilities, demonstrating how is done, guiding new volunteers and empowering our ministry volunteers to built the Kingdom of God. Green Acres is the place to serve and grow.

Evangelism Outreach

Green Acres is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom as commanded by the Lord Jesus Christ. We are active in supporting missionaries with our money and with our prayers. We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means that they be involved in our community, our state, our nation or internationally.

Praise Team

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of Green Acres, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.

Ushers-Greeters

The usher-greeter’s team at Green Acres fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher-greeter’s team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of Green Acres. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website in audio formats. We also maintain an active Facebook feed for additional social media communication.

Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Green Acres is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Wednesday at 6:30 pm, the church comes together for a special time of prayer and Bible study.

Children’s Ministry

Green Acres Children’s Ministry strives to provide a Biblical foundation for a lifetime relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Providing a safe, secure, challenging and fun environment that is developmentally age appropriate. Our programs include nursery care for preschoolers, Playcation and Children’s Church.
